RHEL 4.0 = RHEL 3.1

So Red Hat have released version 4.0 of its Enterprise Linux software?
From what I’ve read it appears to be no more then an update to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0.
The highlights are as follows;
- The 2.6 Linux kernel has replaced the heavily patched and modified Red Hat 2.4 kernel
- SELinux security enhancements
- Desktop software upgrades and additions including GNOME 2.8, OpenOffice.org, Novell Evolution, RealPlayer, Acrobat Reader
- Integration with Active Directory authentication
- A Microsoft Exchange connector
- EAL4+ certification pending
Hardly ground breaking. Maybe I’m being unfair but I would have expected much more for a product branded as "the defining milestone in its evolution".
I’m also not sure what the tagline "just another day at Red Hat" is supposed to convey.
Having said that they have a great product and in my opinion RHEL is the best choice of Enterprise Linux platform.

I’ve always been interested in Genealogy and over the last week or so I’ve started to trace my family tree.
This week I dug out some of my old Vinyl LPs.
